I am a home breeder of Golden Retrievers, and I am responsible for the personal information you send me through this website. For anything about your personal information, email me:
What I collect
- Waiting list form: your name, email address, phone number (if you give it), the town or area where you live, whether you have had a dog before, what you tell me about your home and family, when you are hoping for a puppy, and whether you would like a boy or a girl.
- Contact form: your name, email address, phone number (if you give it) and your message.
- Emails, calls and Facebook messages you send me directly.
Why I use it
- To reply to you, and to manage the waiting list and talk to you about a puppy. This is a step you ask me to take before you might buy a puppy, and it is also in my legitimate interest to answer enquiries.
- If you buy a puppy, to keep a record of the sale and of where the puppy went, which I need for the sale and for my breeding licence.
- To stop spam: the forms keep a scrambled (one-way) code made from your internet address for one hour, to limit how many messages can be sent. It cannot be turned back into your address.
I will not send you marketing emails, and I never sell or share your details for marketing.
How the forms work
Forms are emailed to me and are not stored on the website. While you send a form, your answers are kept in your own browser tab (not on the website), so that if something goes wrong you do not have to type them again. They are cleared once the message has been sent, or when you close the tab.
Who else sees it
Only me. My email provider and my website hosting company handle the messages on my behalf, and my hosting company keeps standard server logs (including internet addresses) for a short time for security.
How long I keep it
- Enquiries that do not lead to a puppy: up to 12 months after we last spoke.
- The waiting list: until you have your puppy or ask to come off the list. I check with everyone on the list once a year.
- Records of puppy sales: for as long as the law and my breeding licence require.
Cookies
This website does not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and it does not load anything from Facebook or Google. WordPress sets cookies only for people who log in to manage the website. Links to Facebook take you to Facebook’s own website, where Facebook’s privacy policy applies.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information I hold about you, and ask me to correct it, delete it, stop using it or limit how I use it. Email me and I will reply within one month.
If you are unhappy with how I have handled your information, please tell me first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO): ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or 0303 123 1113.
